Play Therapy

Expressive Therapy

Within the playroom, children are given the freedom to imagine, create, explore, and play at their own pace while receiving gentle, supportive guidance. Through play, children can experiment with new ideas, test limits, work through challenges, build confidence, and develop problem-solving and emotional regulation skills. As they “play out” their worries and experiences, they can begin to make sense of what they have been through, gain a greater understanding of their emotions, and discover their own voice in a way that feels safe and developmentally appropriate.

Expressive therapy gives children and adolescents a warm, inviting, and welcoming space where they can feel safe being themselves, explore their emotions, and express what may be difficult to put into words. These playful and creative experiences can provide a gentle way to process trauma, navigate difficult experiences, release stress, and work through feelings of anxiety, sadness, or overwhelm. Through creative and developmentally supportive approaches such as sand tray, art, music, and movement therapy, clients are encouraged to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace while building trust, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.

Talk Therapy

Using a client-centered approach, I meet each child where they are and provide compassionate support as they discover their own strengths, build confidence, and develop trust in their thoughts and feelings. Clients are encouraged to make choices, express themselves authentically, and become more comfortable using their own voice. Through a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship, clients can feel less alone and more secure as they navigate challenges, develop a stronger sense of self, and learn that their experiences and emotions are worthy of being heard.
